Hyaluronic Acid vs. Sodium Hyaluronate ~ Which One is Better?

Hyaluronic acid vs Sodium hyaluronate which one is better

Have you ever heard about HYALURONIC ACID? (try this for a tongue-twister 🙂 Let’s just call it HA.

Moreover, why did we chose to use SODIUM HYALURONATE (ok, your tongue is like a pretzel by now; so let’s call it SA. See, you can do it!!! 💪🏼💪🏼)

HA has been receiving a lot of hype lately, but in case you still wonder what the big deal about it is, according to Healthline.com:

“Hyaluronic acid . . . is a clear, gooey substance that is naturally produced by your body. The largest amounts of it are found in your skin, connective tissue and eyes. Its main function is to retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated and moist.”

Dermha.com states:

“With its ability to hold 1000 times its weight in water, hyaluronic acid is the most powerful natural moisturizing ingredient known to science.”

In short, in cosmetics, we use it to attract and retain more moisture in the skin and achieve plumper, smoother, younger look.

That’s great, but here at VELV8 SKIN, we went a step further.
We opted for Sodium Hyaluronate. (SA)

Why?
Because of three main reasons:

1. SA is a smaller molecule, therefore it penetrates deeper into the skin (instead of, say, sitting pretty on top of it.) DELIVERY is the name of the game.

2. Just like HA, SA attracts moisture 1000 times its molecular size, so no loss there.

3. (Three – this is the BIG PUNCH) – SA is MORE STABLE than HA. SA is less likely to oxidize (read: become useless.)

You might wonder how did we get to SA from HA. SA is scientifically engineered, one of those success stories of great partnerships between Mother Nature and Science.
A side note for the ones of us (myself included) fiercely committed to using ONLY NATURAL ingredients in their pure form: this is one reason why applying cucumber slices under your eyes for 30 nights and days in a row won’t even get you closer to what SA can do in one application.

The proof is in NOT ONLY in the pudding but also in its DELIVERY.
